Material Guide
Microfiber
Engineered for durability and easy care
Benefits
- Highly stain- and wrinkle-resistant compared to natural fibres
- Budget-friendly relative to natural-fibre equivalents
- Fast-drying and colourfast through repeated washing
Manufacturing
Synthetic fibres — typically polyester, sometimes blended with nylon — are extruded far finer than natural fibres and woven densely, which is what gives microfiber its soft hand and stain resistance.
Sustainability
As a petroleum-derived synthetic, microfiber doesn't biodegrade and can shed microplastics when laundered; a wash bag reduces (but doesn't eliminate) fibre shedding into wastewater.
Care Guide
Machine washable and highly durable — one of the few fabrics safe on a warmer cycle without much shrinkage risk. Avoid fabric softener, which can reduce absorbency over time.
